PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT

In 2011 FUNDISA was appointed to do the programme management of UNEDSA over the next three years to:

  • Ensure overall integration of the UNEDSA Programme in South Africa to achieve greater impact; and
  • Promote the functional integrity of the individual UNEDSA projects to achieve their objectives.

The Programme Manager

Dr Kgaogelo Elizabeth MokokaDr Kgaogelo Elizabeth Mokoka is a professional nurse holding a D Litt et Phil degree from UNISA. Other studies completed are Nursing Management, Ophthalmic nursing, as well as a number of short courses, including Labour law, HIV and AIDS TB management, managing AIDS in the workplace, training of trainers, assessor and moderator.

Dr Mokoka was previously Chief Nursing Service Manager at the Pretoria Eye Institute, then head of the Nursing Leadership Programme at the Foundation for Professional Development and thereafter Training Programme Manager at ITECH (International Training and Education Center for Health) – SA. One of her focus areas is Nursing Education.

She is involved with various higher education institutions as examiner, external moderator and co - promoter of Masters and Doctoral candidates. Other roles include previous editor of a nursing journal and current member of the editorial board for the SA HIV magazine for nurses. She has presented papers and posters at national and international conferences and has written and contributed in articles on various nursing topics. She is also a member of the task team that developed the NDoH Clinical Mentorship Guidelines and Manual, as well as the TB/ HIV course that is currently being developed as a national programme by NDoH, in collaboration with URC (University Research Co.)
